7-Eleven is one of Norway´s leading convenience retailers with close to 200 stores in the city and on the road (Shell/7-Eleven). 7-Eleven have chosen Liquid Barcodes´ technology to power their app.
7-Eleven Norway is part of the Reitan Convenience group which has a network of +2350 stores across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. 7-Eleven stores are typically at high-traffic locations such as metros, train stations, airports and at shopping malls. Shell/7-Eleven stores are on the road. The convenience offer include coffee, bakery, freshly made sandwiches and wraps, pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs, yoghurts, bars and nuts, cold beverage, ice-cream and frozen yoghurt.
Due to the highly varying margins within convenience, 7-Eleven Norway has opted for a product oriented customer program to have full margin control. In such programs, the stamp cards are the primary value drivers for the retailer. Customers that use the app benefit from a wide range of offers, games and exciting content that engage, promote and reward, in addition to the stamp cards.
Recruiting is primarily done in store and in app using our recruit-a-friend concept. Registration is easy with phone number and pin SMS.
Students are a target customer group for 7-Eleven and students get exclusive deals in the 7-Eleven app. See examples below.
After registration, users enter into an on-boarding program to engage the customers and reward them for starting to use the stamp cards. The customers reveal their preferences through short surveys in the app and actions in store and are rewarded with personalised content designed to drive activity towards your favourite stamp card.
To engage more, 7-Eleven Norway regularly use game concepts such as Chicken, Hurry and games such as Scratch cards. Being able to do these gamification mechanics makes 7-Eleven an attractive partner for supplier brand sampling and activation of new products.
7-Eleven’s NCR Retalix POS is integrated towards our system using only existing hardware in store. Stamps and offers, both from app and paper, are registered by scanning unique codes at the POS and stores are compensated when free products or good offers are collected based on reports from Liquid Barcodes and the POS.
With its wide range of content, 7-Eleven app has become a very popular convenience app in Norway.
